Andrew Cape

Position: Navigator
Nacionality: Australian
Birth place: Melbourne, Australia
Birth date: 06-28-1962
Volvo Ocean Race participations: 4

Born in Australia, but resident in the town of Lymington (UK), Andrew is without doubt one of the most well-respected offshore navigators in the world.

His extensive CV clearly demonstrates it; from the America's Cup, which he won with Swiss team “Alinghi” in 2003, to four round the world regattas divided into legs, (now known as the Volvo Ocean Race, and until 2000 known as the Whitbread Round the World Race), with a double-handed, round the world, non-stop challenge in between (Barcelona World Race 2007-2008) and five victories in the legendary Sydney-Hobart.

After the Volvo Ocean Race 2005-2006, where Andrew was part of the “movistar” crew, Cape returns to the ranks of the Spanish team with the aim of notching up a new victory to add to his CV, one that has eluded him so far: the Volvo Ocean Race.
